LOTS TO LOVE ABOUT LASERS

If you’re like most people, chances are when you think about dermatologic care, lasers don’t automatically just come to mind! However, lasers are becoming an increasingly important part of our practice, as they can address a variety of different cosmetic conditions more effectively than other treatment options, and often with less downtime. Here at Pittsburgh Skin, we offer two different laser treatment options at both of our office locations. Read on to learn what they can do for you!

TETRA COOLPEEL LASER

Looking for that healthy summer glow all year long? Or perhaps you’re battling stubborn age spots that just won’t go away no matter what you use or try? A CoolPeel Laser treatment series might be the perfect solution for you.

The Tetra CoolPeel is a fractionated ablative Co2 laser used to treat wrinkles, age spots, acne scars and other blemishes, as well as tighten skin and balance tone. Patients can expect to see results after their first session, but we typically recommend a package of three total sessions to help improve overall skin texture and offer more minimal downtime per treatment.

DENAVE LASER

DenaVe is our laser of choice for rosacea and vascular lesions like:

• birthmarks
• port wine stains
• cherry angiomas
• spider angiomas
• spider/varicose veins

It works by using a 585 nanometer wavelength (the traditional gold standard for treating vascular lesions like those associated with rosacea and spider/varicose veins) to shrink blood vessels and reduce the red components of the skin. DenaVe’s advantage is that it delivers laser energy in multiple microscopic pulses rather than one large continuous wavelength, which results in significantly less pain while minimizing the risk of bruising, swelling, and downtime for patients.
